Board Member Biography

Board Member: Jeanette Martinek
Jeanette Martinek is an educator, author, and public speaker who lives on the shores of Lake Michigan in Oostburg, Wisconsin, in an area highly reminiscent of the shores of the Baltic, the place from which her maternal great grandparents emigrated. In 2009, she retired from teaching in a career spanning over thirty years earning her recognition from the Christa McAuliffe Foundation, the Herb Kohl Foundation and her local school district as Teacher of the Year.
Locally known as a motivational speaker and gifted storyteller, she has been published in both national and local venues. She is the daughter of a sailor, a niece of wheelmen, a grandniece of a captain of an ore freighter, and a granddaughter of fisher folk. It is her goal to combine teaching, public speaking and writing talents to help others experience the wisdom and holiness in ordinary folk common sense.
