Ok, I did it again. Getting dressed in the dark is not always easy and does not lend well to "double checking" my efforts until it is almost too late! Thankfully, I did not go out the door to share my creative dressing with the public.

Quickly realizing my shirt was inside out and backwards as noted by the ill placed tag, I redressed and boom! Ready for the day as I rushed out.

Our lives can be like that as well despite our carefully laid plans. "Whoops! Didn't see that car coming." or "That date did not go as planned." Whether the situation is within our control, or life just happening, I encourage you to take a moment, breathe and make it better.

I had a wise person once say to me: "Life doesn't always turn out as we plan, but it's what we do with it when it's not quite right, that reveals our true character and tenacity." Love that!

It may not be a t-shirt issue, but something more pressing or difficult. Maybe your pride is being worn on your sleeve, and preventing you from achieving your greatest potential.

"Create the Moment" is our theme for phase one of the 2getherWeCan movement here at Great Marriages. You may have seen the billboards or visited our website. Our hope is to connect people with new ways they can redefine their relationships, marriage, fatherhood, parenting, and even financial outlook. I give you 2 challenges for today: you choose.

1) Create a special moment with your loved one or spouse to STOP the outside pressures for a moment, INclude a gift of your words, time, or talent to do something kind, creative or giving so that hearts may turnrightwards toward each other, grow and be happy.

Warning: It may not be perfect, it may surprise the other person, but know your efforts today to show care and kindness can truly make a positive impact on their day.

2) Write to me at deb@great-marriages.org and share your stories from either an "Inside Out and Backwards" moment or an "Outside In and Rightwards" moment.

That's Food for Thought...
