Have you ever seen something that stopped you "dead in your tracks" with disbelief? You almost need to physically stop, stare, and ask yourself "Is that really happening?"

I had the unfortunate event occur the other day when watching TV and a commercial came on to advertise a website for married people to date someone new. [insert loud record scratch here] "Say what?!?!?"

You heard it: "If you are unhappy in your marriage find someone to have an affair with." And celebs are promoting it? And they are running commercials during prime time? Again I say "What?!?!"

The solution they are promoting to lonely people who are currently married is the WORST solution known to man - and that is not an exaggeration. Don't believe me? Let's insert a different "topic of interest" with the same extreme approach these people are suggesting.

The topic: I want to lose weight immediately.

The Reason: Then I can feel better about myself - physically, emotionally, etc.

The "new" solution: have a steam roller run you over so you can receive the instant benefits of being skinny.

The problem: Your dead

Do you see where the thinking has gone wrong here? Your initial goal to lose weight - not matter if it is for healthy reasons or not, is completely OVER as your solution destroyed you physically. Any perceived "emotional" benefit is null and void as you are now physically DEAD. All is ended and you now have NO OPTIONS before you.

The solution proposed by the people on this website to make your life "better" or "more alive" are completely false and will KILL your relationship or any hope you would have to a happier life with them.

THE SOLUTION TO THOSE SEEKING NEW LIFE FROM A "DEAD" MARRIED RELATIONSHIP:

1. CALL Great Marriages! (920.783.6142) Our mentoring program is exceptional and has brought new life, joy and fun back into marriages already on their way to divorce court. If you are calling outside of our area code, please leave your name, number, city and state. We will do our best to connect you with someone who can assist you.

2. If your thinking of having an affair: STOP, the damage you will do to yourself, spouse, children and family will be difficult. But reading this may not stop you so go to item 3.

3. Protect yourself and RUN away from temptation, find an accountability partner and let your spouse know immediately with the help of a counseling professional! The chances of a "casual affair" online, at work or anywhere can lead to divorce quickly. Don't even go there.

Hang in there people! Protect your marriage - it is priceless!

Editor's note: The weight of the topic above is very serious and we do not want to make light of any situation couples may currently be dealing with that involves an affair or divorce. We do though acknowledge that there are organizations, like this one, that are extremely unhealthy in their beliefs and could destroy the love and strength that individuals, couples and families have worked so hard to maintain - healthy, growing relationships. Please use this blog entry to help you be on your guard and protect your marriage, relationships and family. Thank you.
