Where Is Your Heart?

Have you ever heard someone say "Their heart is in the right place?" Have you ever had someone misunderstand the intentions of your heart? What you may have meant for good will, possibly misinterpreted or not received in the same manner as you sent it.
I remember when I was in my teen years what drama there would be around school. It did not matter if it was a romantically inclined heart, or just a friend. The rumor mill at my school would go crazy if things were not exactly as planned or misinterpreted. Our hearts are precious, and if not handled with care, could be turned down, disrespected or hurt, even from the most casual comment of another, which in turn can affect so many other parts of our lives.
I want to speak to your heart today. Even if you have experienced the disappointment of events gone wrong in childhood, your teen years, or as an adult, the heart is a very tender thing. We are wired to give and receive love, and it is such a personal issue isn't it? Don't give up! Don't let those past wounds determine who you are or your capacity to love or your self worth. You are very important and very special. There is hope. I have seen many individuals and couples come through our doors with the disappointments of this world threatening to take their joy, but the hope that our mentors and educators have in new beginnings can really help you bear new fruit and new found happiness in your life. It can!
For my heart, my faith is my hope. What brings you hope? [Pause and think about that for a moment...]
At Great Marriages, we want to be part of your hope building process that can bring healing to your heart and the heart of your significant other or spouse. I strongly encourage you today to step out in courage, that something good can come of the investment you make into your relationships. The healing process for you and/or someone else may take time, but please do not give up!
No matter how strong or challenged your relationship is you can build on what you already have or even start new again through our mentoring programs or classes coming up in our fall schedule. Please stay tuned to our website and e-blasts for more ways your heart can grow!
May your heart find joy in this day.
