As I speak with people from around the country: those interested in giving or receiving our type of service, leaders in communities and in business; I learn more about the needs of our society.

One relationship that is frequently forgotten when a divorce is occurs is the grandparents. The affect of divorce on grandparents is rarely addressed, except for an occasional headline here or there about grandparents filing complicated legal documents and fighting for the right to see their grandchildren after divorce.

Think about this: for each couple that divorces, the number doubles for the number of grandparents affected. Many who desire to invest time and love in that grandchild's life may now be cut off or enjoy greatly reduced time to interact as estranged families move away, physically or emotionally.

Great Marriages has been approached by International Speaker: Jill Briscoe who is passionate about this topic. She and her husband have suffered the pain of divorce in their family - not by choice. As grandparents, the pain they endured due to the end of a loved one's marriage was extremely difficult. You may find it surprising that she speaks on this topic considering that she and Stuart Briscoe planted one of the largest churches in the Midwest - Elmbrook. And they are leaders, serving people world-wide, who work to encourage and provide hope to those feeling the pain of loss and grief, challenge and change.

Jill wants to speak to you: parents and grandparents of adult children going through a difficult time. Maybe you are struggling with pain over a broken relationship in your family that has you asking more questions and receiving no answers. Jill wants to speak with you!

Please note to all: Jill is faith based but seriously one of the smartest women I have ever met! Even if you are strictly secular and/or non-faith based, I would love for you to join us and hear the wisdom and practical application that could provide encouragement to you.

The luncheon is September 24th, at the Sheboygan Yacht Club. The meal is $5 a person. Space is limited, the meal delicious and the topic relevant to our time. Please register today and bring your friends or family members who need encouragement - you will not be disappointed!

PLEASE RECOMMEND GREAT MARRIAGES to your family members who may be going through a difficult time or are in the midst of divorce. We have been able to save marriages through our mentoring program, even in the 11th hour.
